fitness classes are a fun, motivating, and
challenging way to fit exercise into your daily schedule.
A great alternative or compliment to any workout regime,
our non-credit classes are led by
highly skilled and nationally certified instructors.
Generally, one hour in length, our cardio/strength
and mind/body classes are a reflection of some of the
latest trends in group fitness. Spinning, Yoga, Pilates,
Kickboxing, Ultimate Core, Super Step, Zumba and BodyPump are just a few of the classes you
will find taking place in our Group Fitness Rooms.
To
accommodate the busy lifestyles of our participants,
we offer a bountiful schedule of classes throughout
the morning, afternoon and evening. The
group fitness schedule does change each semester
and is developed based on feedback from participants
as well as instructor availability. Classes are offered
throughout each of the Fall, Spring and Summer semesters
with few exceptions during national holidays and
university closings.
FIU
students and Recreation Members alike are
encouraged to take part in classes; anyone with an
activated FIU ID may sign up for a class. While we
do offer many classes FREE to participants,
some of our instructors and class formats require
an advanced level of training, skill, and mastery.
Therefore, a $2 class fee is charged for some classes. For those who frequently attend our group fitness
classes, we offer Discount Savings passes and punchcards
for purchase at the Membership desk.
