Artist Statement
My work always contains an element of dark humor no matter what medium I work with.
This sensibility was established early in my life while living on five different
Indian Reservations in the Dakotas and eastern Montana. The effect that I hope to
communicate is parallel to the Epic Theater philosophy in a Brechtian Play.
The gift to the viewer is that the absurdity is closer to the real thing than one may first think.
Works on the left are individual projects and the ones on the right are collaborations
with partner, Duane Brant.
