Pub Night Event Summary

On Friday, 22 April, BASA enjoyed its last pub night of the semester. Held at John Martin's Irish Pub and Restaurant in Coral Gables, we enjoyed a fine dinner full of good laughs and recommendations on how the cook should thicken his meals. Aside from that bit, the food was very good indeed.

There was live music...a rather funny band playing mostly 70s hits like the Doobie Brothers "Listen to the Music" and others. The pub was crowded with people, and I'm proud to say our table had a special connection with the bands female vocalist...all thanks to Robert. Both of our attending over-twenty-ones enjoyed a pint of Guinness each and Brent overdosed on Sweet-and-lows in the name of BASA.

We all had a great time. Join us next time. Here are the photos.

Event Summary

Last weekend on Saturday, 9 April, the members of BASA came together in Key Biscayne for the Spring BBQ and Beach cleanup. We rounded up around 10:30 am and cleared litter off the beachhead and dunes. We were given plastic gloves and filled up three large trash bags from the dunes alone!

Around midday we set up the BASA grill and barbecued English pork sausages and hot dogs with all the trimmings (HP Sauce, Walkers crisps, pickled onions, ketchup, and mustard to name a few items). Each of us brought food to the party and had a fantastic time enjoying the sea breeze on a beautiful day. Join us next time!
