Event Summary
On March 5, Brent, Robert, and I drove up to Coral Springs for the 22nd Annual Scottish Highland Games and Festival. We woke up pretty early, met first at the university, and then cruised up there on the "stress-free" turnpike. The temperature was nice and cold...great festival weather.
We arrived at the gate around 8:30 am and picked up our tickets (we were expected). We then walked to the Highland Dance Competition tent where we volunteered at the scoring booth with 'Whiskey the Dog.'
After a couple of hours, the competition ended, and we browsed around the many tents just prior to the Commencement of Ceremonies. Here was saw the Clans and the Massed Bands who marched up and down the parade field a few times. It was quite a show.

Immediately after the three of us went over to the British Marketplace trailer and each had a sausage roll, a meat pie, a basket of fries, and a bottle of Urn Bru. The rest of the day was spent moseying around watching the fine crafts, the pipe bands, the Clans, and the Celtic rock band Off-Kilter. We topped it all with two rounds of the famous Sticky Toffee Pudding.
At long last, the festival came to a close. It was a terrific day spent amidst good company. Photos of the event have been posted so do have a look.
