British-American Students Association (BASA)

The British-American Students Association (BASA), of Florida International University, aims to foster the love of Great Britain and share in the enjoyment of British culture. As a culture club, we are not restricted to students and faculty of British descent, but also invite our Commonwealth friends as well as anyone interested in British culture.

Beach cleanup, BBQ, and Lighthouse Tour

We want to thank all BASA members who attended yesterday’s beach cleanup, BBQ, and Cape Florida Lighthouse tour in Key Biscayne. Together with the Honors Society of Gamma Epsilon Phi, we managed to attract over 40 persons to our event.

We began the day by first, cleaning up and down the beach. Next, we enjoyed hamburgers and hot dogs, along with Walker’s Crisps and English sausages topped with HP Sauce. There was plenty of food and drink for all to enjoy, with much left over. Afterwards, we had a private group tour of the Lighthouse and Keeper’s cottage. We finished the day relaxing at the beach, after which, we all parted ways. The event was a great success!
