British-American Students Association (BASA)

The British-American Students Association (BASA), of Florida International University, aims to foster the love of Great Britain and share in the enjoyment of British culture. As a culture club, we are not restricted to students and faculty of British descent, but also invite our Commonwealth friends as well as anyone interested in British culture.

First Pub Night of the Semester

This past Friday, 17 September 2004, we had our first pub night of the semester at the Frog and Toad's English Pub in Fort Lauderdale, a drinking establishment with a frog problem!!! We had a superb time along with great food, a lively atmosphere, and terrific company.

Friday was 40's Night with a Sing Song and 40's Attire (if possible). Two of our members wore English Peak Caps. We also saw a London Police hat, a Fez, and an "Elementary my dear, Watson!" traditional 'Sherlock Holmes' cap. Pictures of the event will be posted soon.
