Rose advances at Lady Seminole Classic

IU and No. 2 seeded Anneliese Rose defeated UCF’s Anna Westin, 6-2, 6-2, in the opening round of Flight A singles at the Lady Seminole Classic in Tallahassee, Fla.

Rose, who ranks No. 37 nationally in the preseason poll of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, takes on the University of Florida’s Alexis Gordon in quarterfinal action on Saturday.

In doubles, the Golden Panthers Maria Montoya and Dominique Rosenberg teamed up for a first round Flight B victory over the University of South Florida’s Jackie Spicitaric and Jamie Larson, 8-6. The FIU duo takes on Miami’s Igna deVillers and Lauren Scaglione in semifinal action, Saturday.
