Rose, Ly and Campana net all-conference honors
Golden Panthers grab top SBC seed

he No. 36-ranked FIU women's tennis team grabbed the No. 1 seed for this weekend's Sun Belt Conference Championships in Mobile, Ala.

The Golden Panthers begin play for their first-ever SBC title Friday at 5:00 p.m. against the winner of No. 9 North Texas vs. No. 8 Denver, which will be played Friday at 9:00 a.m.

The winner of the tournament that ends Sunday will earn the league's automatic bid into next month's NCAA Division I Tournament.

FIU's Anneliese Rose, Mei Ly and Cristana Campana were also honored Thursday with inclusion on the All-Sun Belt Conference team.

Selected as two of the top six singles players in the league, Rose and Ly led the Golden Panthers to a 16-5 record that included winning 10 of the last 12 matches of the season.

Rose and Campana, the No. 40-ranked doubles team in the country, garnered all-conference doubles recognition in voting conducted among conference coaches.

It marked the third-straight year that Rose has earned all-conference accolades in singles and her second-consecutive doubles honors. It was the first all-conference award for both Ly and Campana.

FIU's top competition over the weekend is expected to come from the host South Alabama team (15-9) who is ranked No. 28 nationally.

Earlier this season, the Golden Panthers defeated USA in Miami to hand the Jaguars their first Sun Belt Conference loss in over ten years. South Alabama comes into this weekend's championships having won ten-straight conference tournament titles.
