FIU knocks off Syracuse,
6-1

No. 28-ranked FIU tennis team made it five-straight wins with
a 6-1 home victory over Syracuse (5-9), Friday afternoon on the
University Park courts in Miami.
The Golden Panthers (11-3) swept the doubles point, winning
all three matches, led at No. 1 by Anneliese
Rose and Cristana
Campana, the nation's No. 25-ranked duo, who defeated
the Orangewomen's Masha Kabanova and Shervin Saedinia,
8-3.
FIU took the top-five singles matches with Rose beating Kabanova
at No. 1, 6-1, 6-3. The Golden Panthers Mei
Ly needed a tie breaker to defeat her opponent at No.
2, Daniella Kaluskova, 6-3, 6-7 (11-9).
Syracuse salvaged the point at No. 6 singles where Marion
Charlier beat Nazly
Elsawaf, 6-4, 6-1.
The Golden Panthers take the weekend off before hosting the
University of Denver next Tuesday, March 19 at 2:00 p.m.
