FIU knocks off Michigan
State, 4-3

No. 29-ranked FIU women's tennis team (9-3) beat Michigan State
(7-6), 4-3, Saturday afternoon in a neutral-court match played
in Tallahassee.
The Golden Panthers lost the doubles point despite seeing
their No. 25-ranked team of Anneliese Rose and Cristina
Campana dominate MSU's Mandy Caldemeyer and Keri
Thompson, 8-2.
But FIU came back in singles, winning four of six matches.
At No. 1, Rose beat the Spartans' Dora Vastag, 6-3, 6-2.
The deciding match came at No. 2 where Mei Ly defeated
Asa Liden, 6-4, 7-5.
The Golden Panthers take on No. 44-ranked Florida State, Sunday
morning in Tallahassee at 11:00 a.m. |
