No. 24 TCU shuts out No.
26 FIU, 4-0

No. 26-ranked FIU women's tennis team dropped to 7-3 on the year
after falling, 4-0, to No. 24-ranked TCU Sunday in Lubbock, Tex.
at the Texas Tech Team Tournament.
The Frogs earned the doubles point by winning all three doubles
position. At the No. 1 position, TCU's Rosa Perez and
Paty Aburto defeated their second top-20 ranked opponent
of the weekend with a 9-8 (9) win over 18th-ranked Anneliese
Rose and Cristina Campana.
Singles play was shortened to just three of the six matches
as TCU picked up all three victories. Ninety-eighth ranked Aburto,
playing at No. 1, defeated 94th-ranked Rose, 6-2, 6-4. At No.
2, TCU's No. 60-ranked Katrin Gaber earned a 6-1, 6-4
win against FIU's Mei Ly.
Late Saturday, the Golden Panthers defeated host Texas Tech,
4-3, as FIU won four of six singles matches to claim the victory.
FIU returns home to host Florida A&M on Friday, March
1 at the University Park tennis courts.
