No. 3 Florida gives Golden Panthers their first defeat of the season

o. 32 FIU loses to the third-ranked Florida Gators, 4-1, at University Park. FIU falls to 3-1 on the season, while the match was Florida's season opener.

UF's Jessica Lehnhoff and Lindsay Dawat, the No. 2 ranked doubles combination in the country, defeated Anneliese Rose and Cristina Campana in doubles, 6-0, 6-2.

The Golden Panthers lone point came at the No. 6 spot, where Nazly Elsawaf won by default.

The No. 1 singles match between No. 94 Rose and No. 2 Lehnhoff did not finish.

The closest match came at No. 3 singles, between FIU's Mei Ly and UF's Zereue Reyes, with Reyes topping Ly, 6-1, 6-4.

FIU will face another SEC opponent on Sunday against Mississippi State at 10 a.m. at University Park.
