#15 Denver too much for Golden Panthers

he return of starting goalkeeper Adrienne McWilliams to the FIU line-up made little difference Friday night, as the FIU women's soccer team lost to #15 Denver 4-0 in Denver.

McWilliams, out for the last two games with a knee contusion, saw her first action since an October 13 match-up with Seton Hall. She allowed four goals in 90 minutes, but did record six saves in the losing effort.

Denver outshot the Golden Panthers 24-2 and won 14 corners to FIU's 0. The numbers recalled FIU's early season struggles when being outshot by a large margin was a common problem. Seniors Katie Antongiovanni and Camile Flenniken each scored two goals apiece for the Pioneers (13-1-2, 8-0 Sun Belt)., though one goal came in the final minute of the game.

The Golden Panthers (2-12-2, 2-2-1) next face North Texas at Denton on Sunday at noon.
