Golden Panthers lose tight one, FIU 0 - #25 Villanova 2

espite battling to a first half draw against nationally ranked Villanova, the Florida International Women's Soccer team could not close the deal in the second half, and lost 0-2 before a crowd of 140 fans at University Park Friday afternoon.

For the first time all season, the Golden Panthers were able to win more corner kick opportunities than their opponent, and for just the third time this season, they equaled their opponent's shot attempts. But it all went for naught, as the Wildcats (9-1-3) capitalized on their chances in the second half. Senior Midfielder Kristin Dunst scored a quick goal in the forty-seventh minute, and Sophomore Forward Regina Villari added another in the eightieth minute to ice the match. Both goals were assisted by Senior Midfielder Julie Battista.

The Golden Panthers (1-10-1) next host Seton Hall at University Park 1:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
