Florida International loses third straight:
USF 1 - FIU 0
he
Florida International University Women's Soccer team lost its
third straight match Friday afternoon, a 1-0 heartbreaker to
South Florida at Jacksonville, Fla. Despite an improvement in
all around play, the Golden Panthers could not overcome the 1-0
deficit.
The Golden Panthers, who had been outshot 73-24 on the year
coming into the game, kept pace in this outing, equaling USF's
number of shots attempted (7). Junior Goalkeeper Adrienne McWilliams
rebounded from a poor outing by allowing only one goal on the
afternoon, though that goal became the difference in the game.
The Bulls' goal came off a shot from Midfielder Rachel Thjomoe
in the fifty-sixth minute. Freshman Defender Carly Goldich paced
the Golden Panthers with four shots attempted and two shots on
goal. The Golden Panthers continue competition in Jacksonville
against Jacksonville on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
