Stuart leads FIU
at the Beacon Woods Invitational

finishes in sixth place at the Beacon Woods Invitational in Bayonet
Point, FL.
Liz Stuart shot a three-day total of 219 (+3) for her
best finish as a Golden Panther in fourth place, three shots
back of the medalist. After Stuart fired her career best two-under
70 on Friday, she came back with 76 and 73.
The team had a total of 920, 56 shots back of champion Tulane,
which shot an 864. Carolin Landmann of the Green Wave
won medalist honors shooting an even-par 216.
Courtney Burdick finished with a 223 (+7) after two
74's on Friday and Saturday, with a 75 on Sunday. Burdick ended
in a tie for 12th place.
Other FIU players included Marika Pluta at 238, good
for a 48th place tie. Laura Leone at 240 in a tie for
53rd and Natasha Lorenz in a tie for 68th place with a
250.
"This is a good step for Liz," said head coach David
Pezzino. "Its nice watching her improve as a collegiate
player. We are continuing to grow as a team." |
