Stuart leads Women's Golf at the Sun Belt Conference Championships

omen's Golf is in tenth place after the first round of the Sun Belt Conference Championships in Niceville, FL. The team shot a total of 338, 40 strokes behind leader New Mexico State.

Junior Liz Stuart led the Golden Panthers with a seven-over 79 on the par-72, 5,910-yard layout and is tied for 15th. Stuart fired a three-over 39 on the front nine and a 40 on the back side. NMSU's Alena Sharp was the overall leader shooting an even-par 72.

Sophomore Laura Leone was right behind Stuart in a tie for 18th, after shooting an 81.

Sophomore Natascha Lorenz overcame a 46 on the front nine to shot a 42 on the back for a 88 total. Lorenz is in a tie for 39th.

Senior Cindy Pilat came in 43rd place, after shooting an 90.

Play resumes tomorrow at the Bluewater Bay Resort, with the final round on Wednesday.
