FIU's Courtney Burdick fires
first-round 74 to lead the Golden Panther Women's Championship

took the first round lead in the Golden Panther Women's Championship
held at the Doral Silver golf course. The Illini, which shot
a first round 309, are 21-shots ahead of SW Texas State.
Bethune-Cookman is in third place at 331, followed by a four-way
tie for fourth place. FIU, Georgia State, UNC-Greensboro and
Middle Tennessee are the four tied at 334.
FIU's Courtney Burdick fired the low round of the day
and is the leader at three-over 74. Burdick shot 37s on both
sides.
UNC-Greensboro's Dani Heimbecker is a stroke behind,
followed by Illinois' Renata Young, two shots back.
The participants and fans were treated by Dennis Walters
golf show after the round on the 17th tee.
The final round of the 36-hole championship is tomorrow at
the Doral Silver golf course. |
