5: Women's Golf accepts $30,000 donation from the Warren Family
Head Women's Golf Coach David Pezzino
announced today that Chuck Warren has donated $30,000 to the
golf program. Coach Pezzino said the donation would be in memory
of Warren's father, Jerry. The money will go to the "Jerry
Warren Memorial Endowment Scholarship" to help FIU student-athletes
on the golf team.
April 23: Three different players shoot in the
70's in the final round of the SBC Championships
FIU finishes in ninth place at the
Sun Belt Conference Championships in Niceville, FL. The team
had its best round of the three-day tournament with a 322. Liz
Stuart fired a four-over 76 to lead three Golden Panthers who
shot in the 70's.
April 22: Women's Golf moves into ninth place at
the SBC Championships
FIU moves up to ninth place after
the second round of the Sun Belt Conference Championships in
Niceville, FL. The Golden Panthers moved one shot ahead of South
Alabama. Liz Stuart continues to lead the team firing a six-over
78.
April 21: Stuart leads Women's Golf at the SBC
Championships
FIU is in tenth place after the
first round of the Sun Belt Conference Championships in Niceville,
FL. The team shot a total of 338. Liz Stuart led the Golden Panthers
with a seven-over 79 on the par-72, 5,910-yard layout and is
tied for 15th.
March 26: Leone finishes
in the top ten at the Hatter Spring Fling
FIU places
tenth at the Stetson Hatter Spring Fling in DeLand, FL at the
Victoria Hills golf course. The Golden Panthers shot a two-day
total of 666. Laura Leone finished tied for seventh to lead FIU,
firing a final round 79. Leone ended the tournament at 12-over,
156.
March 18: Women's Golf finishes
in 14th place at the Waterlefe/USF Invitational
FIU places
14th at the Waterlefe/USF Invitational in Bradenton, FL. The
Golden Panthers shot a three-day total of 1,005 (+141) on the
par-72, 5,909-yard Waterlefe golf course. Juniors Courtney Burdick
and Liz Stuart led FIU with three-day totals of 244 (+28)
to tie for 55th place.
March 2: Women's Golf finishes
the Imperial Lakes in fourth place
FIU places
fourth at the Lady Moc/Imperial Lakes Classic in Lakeland, FL.
Courtney Burdick finished in seventh place with a three-day total
of 228. Liz Stuart fired the best final round for FIU with her
second consecutive two-over 74. The team finished in fourth place
at 940, 34 shots behind winner Washington State.
February 28: Burdick leads
Women's Golf after the first round of the Imperial Lakes
Courtney
Burdick continues her impressive spring with a three-over 75
in the first round of the Imperial Lakes Tournament in Lakeland,
FL. The Golden Panthers are in sixth place after the first round,
shooting a team total of 318, 17 shots behind FAU.
February 11: Burdick wins medalist honors at the
Golden Panther Women's Championship
Junior Courtney Burdick shot an
80 in the final round to win medalist honors by one stroke at
the Golden Panther Women's Championship held at the Doral Silver
golf course. Illinois took the team championship by shooting
a two-day total of 633, 13-strokes better than UNC-Greensboro.
February 10: Burdick leads Women's Golf in the
first round of the Golden Panther Women's Championship
Illinois took the first round lead
in the Golden Panther Women's Championship held at the Doral
Silver golf course. The Illini are 21-shots ahead of SW Texas
State. FIU's Courtney Burdick fired the low round of the
day and is the leader at three-over 74.
November 12: Pat Bradley donates $25,000 to the
Women's Golf program
Pat Bradley returned
to the 25th annual FIU/Pat Bradley Intercollegiate Golf Tournament
last week and helped the women's golf program not only on the
course, but in the pocketbook.
November 3: USF wins Pat Bradley Invitational;
FIU finishes sixth
The South Florida
women's golf team shot a 297 on the final day to win the 25th
Annual Pat Bradley Women's Golf Championship hosted by Florida
International University at the Wyndham El Conquistador Resort
and Spa in Las Croabas, Puerto Rico. FIU placed sixth out of
nine teams at the event.
November 2: Illinois sets school record; FIU in
seventh after day two of Pat Bradley Championship
Illinois shot a school-record
round of 291 to put itself in second place behind South Florida
after day two of the 25th Annual Pat Bradley Women's Golf Championship
hosted by Florida International University at the Wyndham El
Conquistador Resort and Spa in Las Croabas, Puerto Rico. FIU
sits in seventh place.
November 1: USF leads after day one of Pat Bradley
Championship
South Florida's Fany Schaeffer fired
a 70 to finish two-under par and put her team in the early lead
of the 25th Annual Pat Bradley Women's Golf Championship hosted
by Florida International University in Las Croabas, Puerto Rico.
October 22: FIU finishes 10th at Mission Inn Fall
Classic
Liz Stuart shot a seven-over-par,
79, Tuesday to end with an 16-over-par, 160, and an 18th place
individual tie at the 36-hole Mission Inn Fall Classic in Howey-in-the-Hills,
Fla. Teammate Courtney Burdick also finished among the top 25,
tying for 23rd place, with a 162.
October 13: Stuart leads Women's Golf to sixth
place finish
Liz Stuart fired a final round 73
(+1) to finish in fourth place at the Beacon Woods Invitational
in Bayonet Point, FL. The team ended in sixth place.
October 11: Liz Stuart leads Women's Golf at the
Beacon Woods
FIU ends the first day in fifth
place at the Beacon Woods Invitational. The Golden Panthers are
only three strokes back of a four-way first place tie. Liz Stuart
is tied for first after posting a career-low two under 70, including
a 34 on the front side.
April 24: Women's Golf finishes in fifth place
at the Sun Belt Championships
FIU finished in fifth place at the
Sun Belt Conference Championships. FIU had a three-day team score
of 946, 38 shots behind champion New Mexico State. Andrea Sarratt
was named to the all-conference team after the tournament.
