FIU to host 18th Annual Sun & Fun Classic

he Florida International women's basketball team will host the 18th Annual Sun & Fun Classic this Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 28-29, at Golden Panther Arena in Miami. The tournament features FIU, Georgia State, Mississippi and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

FIU has won nine Sun & Fun Classic titles and is 33-11 all-time since the tournament started in December of 1985.

The Golden Panthers (7-3) will face TAMU-Corpus Christi (6-3) in the first round on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. while Georgia State (4-4) and Ole Miss (8-1) will follow at 4:00 p.m. The consolation game will be played at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday with the championship following at 4:00 p.m.

Tickets are $5 for adults; $3 for children ages 2-12 and FIU Faculty/Staff; Free for children under two and FIU Students.
