FIU ranked among nation's 50 best

he Florida International women's basketball team is currently ranked among the Top 50 teams in the nation by WOMENSCOLLEGEHOOPS.com.

The 2002-03 squad is currently 4-2 and ranked 41st in the country. FIU has received votes in the USA TODAY/ESPN Top 25 Poll. The Golden Panthers have faced the poll's No. 2 ranked team - LSU and will face No.1 Duke in Durham, N.C. on Dec. 18. FIU also defeated No. 34 Virginia Tech, 79-70.

FIU is home for a pair of games in the coming days. The Golden Panthers take on Miami (Fla.) on Saturday, Dec. 14, at 7:00 p.m. at Golden Panther Arena and host Charlotte on Monday at 7:00 p.m. at Miami-Dade CC-Kendall.
