Vrancheva honored as SBC Player of the Week

IU point guard Ivelina Vrancheva was named the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week as announced by the conference office today.

Vrancheva had a pair of double-doubles in the FIU/Herald Thanksgiving Classic this past weekend. In the win over Virginia Tech, she contributed 10 points and 10 assists. The following day against No. 3 LSU, she pulled down 10 rebounds and added 10 points.

The Plovdiv, Bulgaria, native leads the Golden Panthers with 6.3 assists per game and is third in scoring with 10.5 points per contest.

FIU travels to New York this weekend to play in the Stony Brook Tournament. The Golden Panthers will face Bradley in the first round on Friday.
