Middle Tennessee downs FIU

Tennessee's Tia Stovall scored a game-high 16 points as the Lady
Raiders defeated Florida International, 61-57, Saturday in Murfreesboro,
Tenn. With the win, MT clinches the No. 2 seed in the 2003 Sun
Belt Conference Tournament.
FIU's Cormisha Cotton posted her 22nd career double-double
with 16 points and 11 rebounds while Ivelina Vrancheva added
12 points and five assists in 40 minutes of action. The Golden
Panthers (16-9, 7-5) shot only 35 percent from the floor.
Patrice Holmes had 15 points at 11 rebounds for the Lady Raiders
(16-10, 9-4).
FIU closes out the regular season at home next week. The Golden
Panthers will face Arkansas State on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. and
host Arkansas-Little Rock on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. |
