Western Kentucky tops FIU

Kentucky clinched the Sun Belt Conference's East Division title
as the Lady Toppers defeated Florida International, 75-57, on
Thursday night in Bowling Green, Ken. With the win, the Lady
Toppers will enter the 2003 SBC Tournament as the East's No.
1 seed.
Western (17-8, 11-2) put the game away with a 13-0 run to
start the second period and led by as many as 21 points in the
game. The Lady Toppers made eight three-pointers and shot 49
percent from the floor.
FIU (16-8, 7-4) was led by Mandy Shafer's 21 points while
Cormisha Cotton added 16 points.
WKU's Shala Reese posted game-highs with 24 points and 10
rebounds. Leslie Logsdon added 19 points for the Lady Toppers.
The Golden Panthers travel to Murfreesboro, Tenn., to face
Middle Tennessee on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. EST. The game can be
