As a Junior (2001): Voted Sun Belt Tournament MVP and first-team All-Conference for the second consecutive year…led the league in service aces (86) and was second in kills (622)…set a new school career record with 1,145 kills…had a team-high 24 kills and a career-high eight aces, versus New Mexico State at the conference finals…led the team 622 kills in 1,370 attempts…tied with teammate Jennifer Owens with 12 block solos…hit 86 service aces (for a career total of 135) and is 61 away from breaking that school record…second on the team in blocks (91)…in the Sun Belt's top ten in hitting percentage (.287)… led all players with 40 kills in 69 attempts in the first and second round games in the NCAA Mideast region.

As a Sophomore (2000): Voted Sun Belt Conference Newcomer of the Year…unanimous first-team all-conference honoree…led the conference in kills per game (4.67)…finished in the top ten for hitting percentage (.291) and service aces (49)…broke the school record for kills in a season with 523 and was second in kill attempts (1,169)…had nine 20-plus kill and three 20-plus dig matches, on her way to 11 double-doubles on the season…voted Player of the Week in the conference after having two double-double matches against South Alabama (10/13) and New Orleans (10/15)…season-high 35 kills and six service aces against Denver (10/29)…finished the season with three 30-plus kill matches, the most in the conference…her 23 digs vs. Jacksonville (9/1) was the highest on the team…also tied the team best with seven blocks against Arkansas-Little Rock (11/3).

While at Northern Michigan (1999-2000): Played as a freshman at Northern Michigan where she led the team in kills (520) and finished second in service aces (52) and digs (388)…given all-team award in 1999 as well as named Freshman of the Year.

Personal: Nirvana Gabriela Kos was born on January 9, 1981 in Pula, Croatia…attended Gimnazija Pula where she participated in handball, swimming and volleyball…was on the 1998 Croatian Champion National team...has one brother Zoran, who plays basketball at Southern Connecticut State...daughter of Miroslav and Silvana Kos…Psychology major.
