FIU loses the season opener to UC-Santa Barbara

IU loses season opener against the UC-Santa Barbara Gauchos, 19-30, 19-30, 20-30, at the Ramada Invitational in San Diego, California.

Junior Adriana Fundora tied the game-high with 14 kills and led the team with nine digs. Nirvana Kos and Jennifer Owens each recorded nine kills and Elizabeth Baldwin had a team-high 17 set assists.

Danielle Bauer paced the Gaucho attack with 14 kills. The two-time first team All-Big West performer did not commit a single hitting miscue and also notched a double-double, digging 10 balls.

The Golden Panthers will try to rebound against Tulane and host San Diego State today in a pair of matches.
