21: Volleyball signs Dyionna Smith for the upcoming season
Head coach Cookie
Stevens has announced the signing of Dyionna Smith to a National
Letter of Intent to attend the University and play volleyball
for the Golden Panthers. Smith was a four-year varsity player
at Seminole high school coached by Fran Cosich.
November 17: Volleyball falls to Arkansas-Little
Rock, 3-0
FIU falls to Arkansas-Little
Rock, 3-0 (21-30, 23-30, 17-30), at Golden Panther Arena. Adriana
Fundora recorded her 12th double-double on the season with 10
kills and 11 digs. Jennifer Owens had eight kills.
November 15: Volleyball loses key match to Arkansas
State
FIU loses to Arkansas
State, 3-2 (30-22, 31-29, 24-30, 28-30, 11-15), at Golden Panther
Arena. Adriana Fundora recorded her fourth 20-kill match and
11th double-double, with 20 kills and 13 digs. The loss means
Arkansas State or Denver will take the eighth and final spot
in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament.
November 14: Volleyball to host key match against
Arkansas State
FIU will be trying
to keep its postseason hopes alive against Arkansas State at
Golden Panther Arena on Friday night at 7:00 p.m. The Golden
Panthers are one game behind Arkansas State and Denver for the
eighth and final spot in the conference tournament, with FIU
2-10 in Sun Belt Conference play, while the Indians are 3-10.
