City CC where she became a teammate of Shannon Carey who is also

the 1997-98 season but was red-shirted last season…hit .281
with 27 RBI in 1998…eight extra-base hits among her 39 on
the year…committed only five errors in 56 games that season…four
year high school letterwinner in softball…expected to be
the starter this year at third base and have an impact from the
first game…Sports Management major…is the daughter of
Donald and Peggy Boyer.

graduating from high school, spent the past two season as a member
and teammate of fellow Golden Panther Crystal Boyer on the Lake
City CC team…Lake City won last year's state championship
with Carey hitting .373 with 16 home runs and 52 RBI…as a
freshman, hit .378 with eight home runs…struck out only 11
times in 119 at bats…in high school, lettered in track, volleyball,
basketball and softball…Recreational Therapy major…hobbies
include collecting sports cards…daughter of John and Sharon
Carey.

High School in Tulsa, OK…awarded academic letters all four
years in high school…member of the key club and the National
Honor Society…worked part-time throughout high school at
DECA, a marketing program…recruited by the University of
Pennsylvania and the University of Missouri but decided on FIU…hobbies

1994, was a member of the Seminole softball team that was both
State and National Champions…in 1998, high school team was

against St. Bonaventure in a 9-0 win, had two hits, three RBI
and a run…In high school, played volleyball, soccer and softball
at Miami Springs…honorable mention All-County selection for
soccer and softball…1998 softball MVP and nominee for Athlete
of the Year…participated in the Miami Waves club team that
finished third in the NSA National Tournament…member of the

After one season as a pitcher for the Golden Panthers Ingrid's
career is definitely on the rise...this season, Golden Panther
fans will see a lot of her on the mound…had 17 relief appearances
in 1999…on March 10, came in to pitch three innings against
Holy Cross where she had two strikeouts and earned her first save
by helping preserve a 9-2 win…also pitched four innings in
a 7-1 win over Charleston Southern…finished 1999 with a ERA
of 1.71…before coming to FIU, attended Gulliver Prep High
School where she earned four varsity letters in softball…three-time
All-Miami-Dade and All-Conference player…two-time All-State
and NFCA Academic All-American honoree…finished her prep
pitching career with a 1.07 ERA…a 49-13 pitching record and
341 strike outs in four years…also participated on the junior
varsity volleyball and soccer teams…member of the National
Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society…editor of the school
yearbook…maintained a 3.9 grade point average throughout
high school and was selected an All-American Scholar-Athlete…hobbies
include dancing, reading and spending time with her family…born

this year…been named co-captain of this year's squad…last
season, pitched in 34 games…on February 12 against Bethune-Cookman,
pitched seven innings and helped guide the Golden Panthers to
a 1-0 win…In that game, yielded just three hits in seven
innings while striking out seven…against Nova Southeastern,
also pitched a complete game in a 4-1 win allowing just three
hits while striking out eight…against Hartford in five innings,
had seven strikeouts while giving up just two hits in a 4-0 win…a
transfer from Georgia State University…while there, she received
All-TAAC Tournament team honors in 1988…attended St. Thomas
Aquinas High School…played volleyball and softball…finished
her prep-career with a 0.07 ERA…awarded Newcomer of the Year
in '94…three time MVP in softball…recipient of the All-Johnson
County, All-Sun County and All-Metro awards…member of the
Honor Role…member of the Peppers Metro and regional Championship

percentage…prior to playing at FAU finished her prep career
at St. Thomas Aquinas High School where she earned four varsity
letters in softball…at St. Thomas Aquinas, she was a two
time first team All-County and first team All-State selection…also
named the teams MVP for there 1998 campaign…during the summer
of 1998 she was a member of the Palm Beach Lady Gators who were
the NSA State and National Champions…Education major…hobbies
include watching her little sisters play softball, soccer and
watching television…daughter of Steve and Pam Nicosia…father
Steve played professional baseball for eight years and won a World
Series with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1979.
Team co-captain…transfer from
Georgia State University who immediately began to make her presence
felt as a member of the Golden Panther team…expected to have
a breakout year this season…last year on February 7 against
Nicholls State, had two hits, one RBI and a run scored while also
doing her part in the field by accounting for four putouts and
two assists…a few days later against Lynn, had a hit and
an RBI together with three putouts to help the Golden Panthers
to a 2-0 win…on March 31, had her first home run as a Golden
Panther while also having an RBI in a game versus Bethune-Cookman…prior
to coming to FIU led Georgia State and their conference in doubles…she
was also selected to the All-Conference Tournament team…attended
Gulliver Prep High School…member of the soccer, volleyball
and softball teams…athletic achievements include being a
three-time All-Miami-Dade first team and The Miami Herald's Player
of the Year…selected as one of the top ten catchers in Florida
by the Student Sports Magazine's Annual Super Achievers Awards…chosen
Player of the Year by the Florida Athletic Coaches Association
for fast-pitch softball her sophomore year…recipient of the
Gulliver Prep Tri-Sports Athletics Medal for volleyball, softball

her first FIU home run, and an RBI…finished her prep career
with a .310 batting average at Mater Dei High School…member
of the Championship Division I Softball teams in 1996 and 1998…awarded
All-Tournament honors in 1996…participated in the ASA softball
league, finished in eighth place in the under-18 Gold Nationals
with the OC Athletics team…member of Student Government and
the Renaissance Clubs…hobbies include playing volleyball,

February 15 against Lynn had three runs, three hits, three RBI,
a home run and a stolen base in a 8-0 win…the next day against
Florida Atlantic, helped with both her bat as well as her glove…had
one run, two hits, and one RBI…in the field playing second
base she accounted for three putouts…March 14 against South
Florida had three hits, two RBI and three putouts on the way to
helping the Golden Panthers to a 2-0 win…March 19 against
Providence had two hits, two runs and two RBI while also having
a stolen base and two putouts… ranked in the top ten in hitting
in the TAAC for her entire sophomore season…named TAAC Player
of the Week for the first week of the 1998 season, after going
12-for-16 (.750) with six runs scored and four stolen bases against
Hartford… hit .426 with runners on base…the 1995 leading
scoring in Miami Dade-County for soccer and All-County first team…voted
All-Miami-Dade second team in volleyball in 1993-94…All-County
second team for softball in '92, '94 and 1996…part of Lourdes
Volleyball and Softball District Championship teams…awarded
the MVP for volleyball, softball and soccer all four years in
high school…was part of the FIU softball club team and soccer

Another
first year Golden Panther who will start and play a major role
in the success of this year's team…after having a great fall,
earned the starting spot at shortstop…a great bunter and
hitter who will definitely cause problems for opposing teams because
she can do so many things well with her bat…in high school,
participated in volleyball, basketball and softball…as a
softball player, named Most Improved Member of the team in 1996
and first team All-League in 1998 and 1999…named to the CIF
All-County team in 1999, and was the MVP of her team as a senior…like
other newcomers to this year's team she also knows how to win
as her softball team was league champions in 1996, 97, 98 and
finished in second place in 1999…in 1998, received an academics
award in English and the Health award in 1999… graduated
from high school with honors…a member of Future Teachers
of America…Early education major…hobbies include water
skiing and spending time with kids…daughter of John and Carol
