Coach Gwydir announces
the signing of four players

Head Coach Kim Gwydir has announced the signings of the following
players during the fall signing period:
Catcher Jennifer Powell from Suncoast High School in
West Palm Beach. Powell is an All-Palm Beach County performer.
She has a batting average of .429 and drove in 22 runs last season.
Powell also threw out 13 of 15 runners.
Pitcher Nicole Barret from Trabuco High School in Mission
Viejo, California. Barret has pitched 72 consecutive innings
with no earned runs, dropping her ERA to 0.56. She has been voted
all-league the past two seasons, along with being a two-time
Gatorade "Will to win athlete."
Outfielder Margie Dougherty from South Plantation High
School in Fort Lauderdale. Dougherty was a first-team All-Broward
County selection last season. She hit .592 last season, with
32 runs scored, 33 stolen bases and a 68.6 on-base percentage.
Pitcher Heather Taylor from Brampton in Ontario, Canada.
Taylor can also play first base and batted .317 with 37 RBI.
Her pitching statistics are 1.10 ERA, 76.2 IP, 31 strikeouts
and a 7-5 record.
The signings will count for the 2003 softball season. The
team will start practice January 6 for the upcoming season. |
