Amanda Nealer tabbed
as Sun Belt Pitcher of the Week

pitcher Amanda Nealer was named the Sun Belt Conference
Pitcher of the Week. Nealer appeared in three games, finishing
2-0, with an ERA of 0.58.
During the week, Nealer picked a complete-game victory over
No. 23 Minnesota. She allowed only one run and one hit in the
contest.
The left-hander then picked up the win against No. 14 Iowa.
Throwing middle relief, Nealer allowed no runs and faced 11 of
the minimum nine hitters.
The Everett, WA native ran her record to 9-4 on the year,
with a 1.28 ERA. Nealer has five complete games and two shutouts
in nine starts. She has given up a team-best .193 opponent batting
average and only 15 walks.
FIU is 28-22 on the season and will start Sun Belt Conference
play two weekends from now, hosting Middle Tennessee. |
