Vronique Wilson finishes ninth at NCAA 200-meter championship

IU junior sprinter Vronique Wilson (Ft. Lauderdale/Boyd Anderson) held true to form late Saturday, after finishing ninth in preliminary heats Wednesday, she finished ninth in the finals of the women's 200-meter dash at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Baton Rouge, La.

USC's Natasha Mayers won the national championship in that event with a time of 22.93. Wilson, running her first-ever NCAA Championship heat, crossed the finish line in 23.61.

With the top eight finishers gaining All-America honors, Wilson's time was just one-hundredths of a second behind eighth-place's Kinshasa Davis of USC who recorded a 23.60.
