Women fail to advance at the NCAA Championships
he FIU women
can't advance to the NCAA Championships at the regionals in Fairfax, VA.
The Golden Panther 4x400-meter relay team finished in 17th place with a
time of 3:42.52, 7.07 seconds behind first place South Carolina.
Vronique Wilson also failed in her quest to make All-America status two
consecutive years in the 200-meter dash. Wilson ran a 23.88 for a seventh
place finish, two spots out of qualifying status.
Linda Loussaint had 10th and 18th place finishes in the high jump and
triple jump, respectively. Loussaint cleared 1.71m in the high jump and
12.14m in the triple jump.
The top five individuals in each competition and six to eight "wild
cards" gathered from the four regionals will advance to the NCAA Championships
in California.
