Vronique Wilson

IU junior Vronique Wilson (Ft. Lauderdale/Boyd Anderson) has qualified for next weekend's NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Baton Rouge, La. and will compete in the women's 200-meter dash.

Wilson's season-best time of 23.24, accomplished at the Sun Belt Conference Championships last May 12, is the 14th fastest time among the 20 final qualifiers in that event.

Preliminary heats in the women's 200m will be run at LSU's Bernie Moore Stadium, next Wednesday, May 29 at 9:55 p.m. with the top eight times moving on to the national championship finals, Saturday, June 1 at 9:30 p.m.

This will be the second appearance for Wilson at NCAA competition. Last March, she represented FIU at the Indoor Championships in Fayetteville where she finished 12th in the 200-meter dash preliminaries with a time of 23.81, just 18-hundredths of a second off finals qualifying.
