Vronique Wilson top sprinter
at Jesse Owens Track Classic

Wilson (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla./Boyd Anderson) won the women's
200-meter dash at the 17th-Annual Jesse Owens Track Classic in
Columbus, Ohio.
Wilson, who owns the Sun Belt Conference's top time in that
event this year (23.42), crossed the finish line Sunday with
a time of 23.70, more than a quarter-second ahead of Michigan's
Sierra Hauser-Price who posted a 23.96.
FIU's only other competitor at the Jesse Owens was junior
Gerald
Waugh (Miami/Coral Gables) who finished sixth in the
men's 110m hurdles with a time of 14.42.
With the season winding down, the Golden Panthers men and
women's teams compete next at the Sun Belt Conference Championships,
starting this Friday in New Orleans. |
