FIU runners compete at 108th
Penn Relay Carnival

of the FIU Track & Field teams traveled north and competed
Friday in the 108th running of the Penn Relay Carnival in Philadelphia.
Turning in the most impressive performance was the Golden
Panther men's sprint medley relay team of Gerald
Waugh (Miami, Fla.), Jamaire
Clarington (Titusville, Fla.), Greg
Johnson (Pembroke Pines, Fla./Flanagan) and Luiz
Prestes (Curiúva-PR, Brazil) finished third in
their heat with a time of 3:26.27.
Clarington also competed in the men's 110m hurdles with a
sixth-place heat finish of 14.45.
FIU women also ran with Vronique
Wilson (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) finishing sixth in her
heat (11.95) of the 100-meter dash and Rebecca
Rodriguez (Miami, Fla.) ended 28th in the women's 10,000
meters with a time of 36.52.38-the second-fastest time in the
Sun Belt Conference this season. |
