As a Sophomore (2000): Played in all 19 matches with 18 game starts tied for first on the team with four assists, ranked third in overall points (10) and second with 33 shots tallied a goal and three assists against conference opponents scored the first goal during FIU's 3-2 overtime upset victory over No. 4-ranked UAB (9/10) assisted on the lone goal in a 1-0 win over ASC foe Adelphi (11/3) hit a season-high five shots at Philadelphia (10/8) with an assist on the game-winning goal recorded a goal on his very first shot of the new season in the opener against Dayton (9/1). As a Freshman (1999): Saw action in all 18 matches, ending third on the team with seven points on two goals and three assists scored the squad's lone goal of the 1-0 win over ranked Ohio State (10/31) recorded his first intercollegiate goal vs. No. 16 Jacksonville (10/9). Prior to FIU: Attended St. Thomas University (1998-99) but did not compete intercollegiately considered one of the finest prep players coming out of Miami-Dade County in 1997 Sunset's all-time career leading scorer with 64 goals and 57 assists over four seasons scored 30 goals as a senior all-county selection as a junior and senior and a member of the Puma All-Tournament team a two-time team MVP and twice was invited to play in the Sun Bowl played club soccer with the AAU Strike Force, helping that organization to state titles in 1996 and '97 two-time AAU All-America son of Jorge and Ana Asorey History major.
