Asorey named ASC Player of the Week

lorida International striker Matias Asorey was named the Atlantic Soccer Conference Player of the Week as announced by the conference office today.

Asorey (Miami/Sunset HS) scored both goals in the Golden Panthers' 2-1 victory over Hartwick on Sunday at University Park. The win gave FIU the ASC Championship and an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.

He now leads the league with 11 goals and 24 points on the year. It was his third such honor in 2002.

The Golden Panthers (10-4-1, 4-0-1 ASC) host Mercer on Friday, Nov. 8, in FIU's final home game of the season.
