Men's Soccer blanks PhilaU
he FIU Men's Soccer team won its seventh-straight
match, defeating Philadelphia, 1-0, Friday afternoon at Ravenhill
Field in Philadelphia.
The Golden Panthers struck early
as Allen Handy volleyed home a chip from Oscar Gil in the 24th
minute. FIU did not score again, despite launching 15 shots
- eight of which were on goal.
FIU goalkeeper Roy Rosenberg
tallied three saves while recording his third-straight shut out.
He has now gone 283 minutes without allowing a goal.
The win improved FIU to 7-4-0,
2-0-0 Atlantic Soccer Conference and dropped Philadelphia to
4-7-1, 0-3-0 ASC.
The Golden Panthers continue
their northeast road trip with a visit to the nation's capital
as they face Howard Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
