Overtime goal lifts UCLA
to 1-0 men's soccer victory
CLA's Jimmy Frazelle scored
the game-winning goal in the fifth minute of overtime as the
Bruins defeated FIU, 1-0 at the Cal State Fullerton Soccer Town
Classic. Ty Maurin and Chadd Davis assisted on
the game-winning score.
UCLA and the Golden Panthers battled for 94 minutes of scoreless
ball before Frazelle ended the contest with a shot from about
12 yards out off Maurin's cross. UCLA's defense held FIU at bay
throughout the contest, limiting the Golden Panthers to just
five shots, two on goal.
Meanwhile, FIU goalkeeper Roy Rosenberg tallied five
saves on UCLA's 15 shots, including a point blank diving save
off a Ryan Futagaki hard shot in the 84th minute. |
