Matias Asorey named Atlantic Soccer Conference Player of the Week

unior midfielder Matias Asorey (Miami, Fla./Sunset) was named today as the Atlantic Soccer Conference Player of the Week through Oct. 15.

Asorey posted two goals in a key ASC victory at Adelphi last Saturday as the Golden Panthers took a 3-1 decision. With his performance, Asorey became the first Golden Panther this season to score more than one goal in a match, helping FIU to even its record at 5-5-0 overall this season and 2-1-0 in the ASC. He now leads the team with four goals and an assist on the year.

FIU plays its final seven matches at home beginning this Friday night at 7:30 p.m. when the Golden Panthers host Philadelphia University who sits atop the ACS with a perfect 4-0-0 mark.
