Oneonta State spoils FIU's Atlantic Soccer Conference opener, 1-0

arvin Foster collected a rebound off FIU goalkeeper Roy Rosenberg in the final minute of the first half and scored the match’s only goal as host Oneonta State (6-4, 2-1 ASC) defeated the Golden Panthers, 1-0, in an Atlantic Soccer Conference match played Friday afternoon in Oneonta, N.Y.

The loss snapped a two-game winning streak, dropping FIU to 3-5 on the season, 0-1 in league play.

Oneonta finished the game with a 9-8 shot advantage. Red Dragons’ goalkeeper Jack Potter picked up the shutout with four saves, all of which were diving stops, while Rosenberg, last week’s ASC Rookie of the Week, collected five saves for FIU.

The Golden Panthers stay on in New York and try to regroup Sunday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. with another conference match at Hartwick.
