2002: Experienced as a starter
and a reliever, pitched 54.1 innings on the year…twenty appearances
with seven starts, six of those coming at mid-season…hard-luck
loser in his first appearance of the year vs. UCF (2/1) with three
innings, no hits and four strikeouts, but two walks and a run scored…in
his first start of the year, picked up the win with six innings
of shutout baseball at Bethune-Cookman (2/20)…struck out a
career-high nine batters in that game…next outing was a six-inning
start and win against NCAA-bound Notre Dame (3/2) when he allowed
one earned run in a 13-4 victory…longest stint of the year
came vs. Ball State (3/14)—seven innings with six hits and
seven strikeouts…only save of the campaign came at Miami (5/2)
when he entered with the bases loaded and no outs in the ninth inning
to preserve a 9-7 win…good move to first base with two pick-offs
on the season.
2001: Filled in as
the closer the second half of the season…appeared in 23 games
making his only start versus Miami (2/23)…recorded his first
career save versus Louisiana Tech (3/17)…collected his first
career win versus Arkansas State, pitching 0.1 inning of relief
in the 7-6 win…pitched in relief versus Notre Dame (5/27)
going 3.1 innings, allowing no runs and giving up only one hit in
the 7-6 win against the Irish for his third win of the year…had
a season-high six strikeouts in four innings versus Florida Atlantic
(2/17)…pitched four innings of relief versus Louisiana Tech
(3/17) allowing one hit and no earned runs while striking out two…led
the team with a 2.65 ERA, 23 games appearances, and 11 games finished.
Prior to FIU: Played
for coach Manny Yanez at Barbara Goleman HS…selected best
pitcher junior and senior years...11-1 with 0.97 ERA as a senior
and went and junior year went 10-3 with 2.97 ERA.

relaxing and lifting weights…father played in the Pan-American
