Santos named SBC pitcher of the week

Junior pitcher Arthur Santos was announced Sun Belt Conference Pitcher of the Week for the week of April by the league office today. The righthander went 1-0 last week, dominating in just his third start of the year. On Sunday against Middlle Tennessee State, the Miami native pitched the entire game, posting a 12-0 win while allowing just two walks and striking out 13. The 13 strikeouts (an FIU individual high in 2003) and eight innings pitched both established career highs for Santos.
