Please note:
If the recipient will graduate in Fall 2009, the full amount will be dispersed that semester.  A student who will graduate in Summer 2009 IS NOT eligible for a scholarship.

MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL SCHOLARSHIPS — the criteria below apply to all university- wide scholarships, unless otherwise specified under the additional specific criteria for each award.

  • Fully admitted, undergraduate OR graduate, degree-seeking student.
  • Undergraduate student must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, unless otherwise indicated, as of December 2008.
  • Graduate student must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher, unless otherwise indicated, as of December 2008.
  • Student must be enrolled FULL-time: at least 9 undergraduate credits or 6 graduate credits during the term of the award, unless otherwise indicated.
  • Submission of a typed personal statement (double-spaced, two-page maximum) that describes your educational goals and tells how being a recipient of a scholarship will help you fulfill them.
    • GRADUATE applicants' essays should focus on career/professional ambitions.
  • Submission of (2) letters of recommendations on professional letterhead, ONE of which MUST be from a teacher/professor.
    • The second letter may be from an employer, supervisor, or other professional who can attest to student’s academic potential, leadership qualities, and/or community service.
