POLICY
As stated in policy 3.20 of the Academic Affairs Policies and Procedures Manual the Undergraduate Policies and Procedures Manual is considered the authoritative manual for the governance of undergraduate programs. These policies and procedures are the basic guidelines and minimum requirements for undergraduate program development, implementation and evaluation. All undergraduate programs including cooperative and affiliated programs must conform to these guidelines and requirements.

Every academic undergraduate program must make available a publication that gives details of its policies and procedures and that, at a minimum, addresses the following issues: admission criteria and procedures, the 10% Waiver Policy (if any), advisement policies, program requirements, and graduation requirement.

Council of Deans

POLICY
The Faculty Senate is responsible for recommending to the Provost the approval of University undergraduate policies and procedures. The Undergraduate Council is the body of the Faculty Senate responsible for the initiation and development of recommendations of those policies and procedures in consultation with members of the faculty, academic deans and the Vice President for Academic Affairs. The Undergraduate Council welcomes suggestions from the University Community.

Undergraduate Council recommendations approved by the Faculty Senate are forwarded to the Vice President for Academic Affairs, who seeks the review of the Dean of Undergraduate Studies, the Council of Deans and of other appropriate university officials prior to concurring or dissenting. If revision is desired, the policy statement with suggested revision is returned to the Faculty Senate.

After approval by the Vice President for Academic Affairs, the policy or procedure is officially entered into the University Undergraduate Policies and Procedures Manual by the Dean of Undergraduate Studies, who is responsible for maintaining, producing, and distributing the manual. Compliance is monitored by the academic deans, the Dean of Undergraduate Studies and the Faculty Senate Undergraduate Council.
