FACULTY SENATE

PURPOSE
To define the role and
function of the Faculty Senate.
AUTHORITY/SOURCE
Provost and Vice President
for Academic Affairs
POLICY
As representatives of
the faculty, the Faculty Senate is one of the bodies of the University
which formulates recommendations concerning university-wide policies
on academic matters, and opinions on any subject of interest to the
University. Members are elected by the faculty in proportion to
the number of faculty in each unit. Recommendations of the Faculty
Senate are forwarded to the Provost for consideration and further action.
PROCEDURE
The operations and procedures
of the Faculty Senate, including its membership, jurisdiction, officers,
and committees are detailed in the "Faculty Senate Constitution
and Bylaws".
