SPECIALIZED AND PROFESSIONAL ACCREDITATION

Professional degree programs at FIU are accredited or approved by the appropriate specialized accreditation agency, or pursuing full accreditation or approval. Each of these accrediting bodies have their own specific criteria, review process, and time frame. SACS - REGIONAL ACCREDITATION

Florida International University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia 30033-4097: Telephone number 404-679-4501) to award baccalaureate, master's and doctoral degrees. SACS reaffirmed FIU's accreditation on December 5, 2000. ACCREDITATION GOALS

Academic Affairs has a major goal to pursue accreditation for all the degree programs for which there are accrediting agencies. This is in pursuit of the University goal to maintain the quality of all educational programs and the University's philosophy of "Quality Management."
