Tutoring:Currently, the department does not offer tutoring for physics. Some tutoring is available from Multicultural Programs and Services. Also some of the textbook publishers offer tutoring hotlines when purchasing a new book. Check the information that came with your textbook. For students enrolled in the introductory physics classes PHY2053/54 and PHY2048/49 we strongly recommend Problem Solving Physics I & IIWhether you are enrolled in our Physics with (PHY-2048 and PHY-2049) or without calculus (PHY-2053 and PHY-2054) classes, these 1 credit hour courses are a great supplement. They are intended to give you some additional insight in how to solve the kinds of problems that you will encounter in your homework and on the exams. We will go over various techniques and some general rules of thumb for solving physics problems. The hope is that these courses will help you achieve a better grade in your physics course. The instructors also teach or have taught the regular physics classes and therefore are very familiar with the kind of difficulties that you encounter in your physics class.Due to increased demand, we are now offering different courses for Physics w/calculus and w/out calculus:
