Registration Week:
Registration Week is held during the preceding semester
and ends one week later. Degree seeking students are given
an appointment day and time based on their classification
and credit hours completed. Students may register on their
assigned appointment day and time (or thereafter) up until
the published deadline. No exceptions can be made for those
students who wish to register before their assigned appointment
day or time.
Open Registration:
There is no appointment day or time and registration
is on a first come, first served basis. All students who
have not yet registered are encouraged to do so at this
time. Students who have already registered may add or drop
courses during this period.
Late Adds:
Students may add or register only until the end of the third
week of classes with the appropriate signature. In order
to add late, students must obtain the signature of the instructor
and a department stamp of approval. Payment for any late
add must be made the same day as the registration; otherwise,
this will result in the cancellation of all paid or unpaid
courses.
Dropping and Adding Courses:
Students may drop courses or withdraw from the University
with no transcript record of the courses and without a tuition
fee liability prior to the end of the drop/add period. If
tuition and fees have already been paid, an automatic refund
will be mailed to the student’s local address within
six weeks. Courses must be dropped through the Kiosks or
via the Web in order to avoid liability. To
add courses during the drop/add period no signature is required
unless the course is closed. If the course is closed, a
permission is required from the appropriate department.
Grading Option:
The Colleges and the Schools determine the courses’
grading option. Courses may be offered for a letter grade
(A,B,C,D,F) or Pass/Fail, (P for pass or F for fail). Courses
offered with a grading option (OP) allow students the “option”
of either a letter grade or a Pass/Fail grade. The grading
option must be indicated at the time of registration and
may not be changed after the first week of classes (end
of the drop/add period). There are no exceptions to this
deadline.
Audit:
Auditing a course means that an AU grade will be recorded
on the transcript. Students must obtain the course instructor’s
permission and signature. Once a course has been requested
as an audit, the grading option may not be changed. The
deadline to change the grading option to audit is the end
of the drop/add period. There are no exceptions to this
deadline.
Late Drops:
Courses officially dropped during the late drop period
are recorded on the transcript with a grade of ‘DR’
(dropped). Students are financially liable for all courses
dropped during this period. Courses must be dropped by using
the Kiosks, or via the Web.
