These tables give percentages of potential voters who answered "worse off" to the question "Looking ahead, do you feel the next generation living in Florida will be financially better off, about the same, or worse off than you?".
This tracking question measures long term optimism/pessimism about the economy. Over past year there has been a shift toward optimism: almost 10 percent fewer voters think the next generation will be financially worse off than they are.
On this issue percentages for undecided voters are almost identical to those of Gore voters. This should help Gore if he can convince these voters that he can do a better job building a foundation for long-term prosperity.
